Poetic end of the year

So Preston's school had a first grade Talent Show. Preston was so excited. He picked a poem to memorize and even had me take pictures of his school's staff (to go along with the poem). He did a good job (though he read it) and everyone really enjoyed it. However, the video only captured the first part of the poem. He was asked by the staff to recite his poem again (on Wednesday) for the whole school at the End Of The Year Assembly. I wish I had video of that one cause he did it from memory and had someone helping him with the pictures. Oh well. Enjoy hearing his introduction to his poem.

The teachers jumped out of the windows
the principal ran for the door.
The nurse and secretary bolted,
they're not coming back anymore.

The custodian hollering madly,
escaped out the door of the gym.
The Lit Lab and Noon aides shouted,
and ran out the door after him.

The lunch ladies threw up their ladles,
then fled from the kitchen in haste.
And all of the students looked puzzled,
as staff members scurried and raced.

We'd never seen anything like it.
But still it was pretty darned cool
to see the staff so excited
to leave on the last day of school!
