First Day of School

The happiest day of the year is here! WAHOO! Back to school, back to school......

Chloe was so excited to start school. She had her outfit picked out the night before. Chloe even had me blow dry her hair and straighten it last night after her shower. She has NEVER let me blow dry her hair before this, so you know this was SERIOUS business. Chloe woke up pretty good and was great about getting dressed. She was a little slow eating breakfast but we made it out the door in time nonetheless. Chloe likes her teacher Mrs. Brown a lot. She is very nice and gave her play-doh which Chloe has barely let go of. Chloe said school was fun but she didn't even get any homework. Huh? She WANTS homework?? Ha ha. Chloe is in the Kinder/First Grade combo class. This will be good for her. She will be able to see what the first graders are doing too. Very cool!

Preston was a little nervous to start school. I think he had mixed feelings about it. He was excited to see his friends and nervous to meet his new teacher. All went well though and he had a great first day. Preston did tell me that a new girl was at his school.....and she is in his class.....and she is GORGEOUS.....yes those were his exact words. Funny huh? Oh my....I'll have to see this girl. he doesn't remember her name though. And he says they aren't friends yet. Ha ha.

After school we took Preston to pick up his glasses. Yep Preston has glasses now. He LOVES having glasses. Goofy kid. Anyway, the ones he picked are pretty cute. He will wear them all the time unless he's playing outside. Chloe had soccer practice after school too. Besides being low during her practice she did good. Her team is the Lil Cakers. Their uniforms are white (like cupcakes....that's what the kids said)....hence the name cakers. Okay??

Derek wasn't sure if he liked being home or not. He spent his day trying to figure out if he liked being the only one home or not. I think he is still undecided. We took him out for a donut after we dropped off the kids at school. That way he got to feel special too. He is excited for 2morrow since he has soccer! That was my day, how was yours?

Another tag! A picture one!

Picture Tag!
yeah!
Alright, the rules are that you have to take ten pictures of the following things, just as I have! No straightening, no cleaning, and no making your kids look cute! That includes wiping noses! Then you have to tag at least five others.
Okay I was tagged by Rachael Saline awhile ago. I have some time now so I'd thought I'd do it. Here it goes. Keep in mind it is 8pm right now!

1. The Fridge
See the yummy pickles? And the yummy yogurt that we eat with granola? That's some good stuff right there!

2. The Closet
Okay so to be fair I guess I'll tell on myself. You can only open half of my closet at a time so I chose the half that didn't have anything embarrassing in it. The other side has my princess costumes and stuff... ha ha!

3. Self portrait
So pretty I know. What is all this natural beauty? I'm not sure. I'm just that way. And yes, my eyes change colors everyday to match my outfit. It's the bomb! And how do you like that slightly Popsicle colored tongue action? It's my favorite part too.

4. Favorite room
This is my favorite room for the obvious reason....the big clock. Everyone needs a GIANT clock in their house and here is mine. It isn't important if its telling the right time or not. In fact, this is how we keep people on their toes---set the clock for the wrong time. Try it. (alright so really it needs a new battery and the thing is too GIANT for me to do it myself...ahem, Douglas..hint hint)

5. Kitchen Sink
Yeah, it's Sunday and so I'm leaving the cutting board to wash in the morning. How do you like that cutting board? Pretty big huh? That's what the professionals use. Oh, and sometimes I use it too.

6. The Laundry room
Here is how my husband does his laundry. He washes and dries his clothes then throws them back in the bucket (the green one on the floor) until someone feels sorry for him and folds them for him (me) and places the clothes on the dryer. There they normally stay until they are once again soiled. Does he even have clothes in his closet? Sometimes.....jk. Today Chloe and Annahlise wanted to fold our laundry (mine and the kids) so I let them. Chloe may come to regret that she did a SPECTACULAR job! Seriously! The girl can throw down some laundry action. Starting 2morrow, it's her new chore! Wahoo Chloe!

7. The Toilet
Truth be told this one I don't get and was ready to skip all together! Who takes a picture of their crapper? And posts it for other sicko crapper lovers to check out? I guess I do. Check out the "business seat." This is where Doug "files his paperwork", I "drop the kids off at the pool," and the kids "take care of their business." Yes, the toilet. Aren't we glad we have one? I also decided to post this picture since it has "presents for George" in it. Ha ha. Nice!

8. What are your kids doing right now?
Well, my children are supposed to be sleeping. So I will use my sneaky peeky feet and tip toe into their rooms (without turning on lights or anything) and get cute pics of my 3 darlings sleeping for you. Here it goes.....

Oh, look who I run into (literally). It's Preston talking on the phone. Yep he's my 7 yr old who apparently goes to bed with the telephone still attached to his head. Awesome! What's he gonna be like as a teen. He talks on the phone alot already. Say goodbye and Go to bed Preston!
Derek is in Preston's bed (not his) and he's playing with a flashlight. Geez my kids are so obedient it's incredible! They should get awards.
Here are the girls. Who ran into the bed as soon as I opened the door. I almost caught them in mid air. They were dancing on the floor.

9. Dream Vacation
Right now it's gonna have to be Italy. I have been dreaming about it. Yep, our lil Anziano Cass is there. Hello Anziano Cass! We miss you! (as a side note, I liked this one.....I had something to google....see, it's a sickness).

10. Favorite shoes
My favorite shoes are the most uncomfortable shoes for me to wear. They are too big on me so I get blisters every time I wear them. If I am wearing them then I am going somewhere exciting. And they are bold and a lil sassy all at the same time. Ahh, my red heels. I love 'em.

I now tag:
1. My lil sister Jennilyn (she's got some sweet parenting methods)
2. Kimmy (aka duck) and her duck Larry
3. Julie (my armed and dangerous sister)
4. Kristi
5. Corinne
Have fun ladies! I know you won't disappoint! Show the world your goods!

Annahlise goes Downtown!

We went to use our free bowling coupon at Upland Brunswick but the lanes were all taken. We didn't want to wait 2 hours for a lane to free up so we went to DOWNTOWN DISNEY instead! Wahoo! It was so fun and magical to take Annahlise there. She was excited about EVERYTHING. So cute. She was amazed at how close we live to Cinderella. She loved the fancy lights everywhere and the street entertainers. Ofcourse she loved the cool stores too. She was walking around in a "somebody pinch me please daze." That was soo cute. We were even able to watch Disneyland's nightly fireworks show. Sorry Kirstin but Annahlise said those were the best fireworks she's ever seen. Maybe cause Disney puts on a heck of a show (and it's a LONG show too).

Kings

Annahlise kept reminding us that she hadn't ever seen Uncle Doug's work. We knew that meant--we needed to head to Kings sometime while she was here or we were NEVER gonna hear the end of it. LOL. Chloe and Annahlise have enjoyed pretending to be sisters. They often dress alike and do their hair the same while we are going out. They thrive on the attention they get. I think they may actually crave it. Going to Kings was no different. They both HAD to have their purses and wear look-a-like type clothes. We had already eaten dinner so we ordered dessert and drinks. Annahlise was able to meet a lobster and take home an oyster shell. She got the full "kid" experience. Although she was really sad that she forgot her cup there. Uncle Doug will have to bring one home for her.

Keeping Busy

I have been trying to keep the kids busy this summer. Everyday we've had an activity to do whether it be swimming, park, free movies, free food, Raging Waters, etc. Doing all these activities sure beats the boredom factor for the kids and keeps them happy but it's finally taking its toll on me! I am getting worn out! Whew! I think we need a couple of chill days. Yep. I predict we will have some chill days coming up. Chillaxing is just what we need. Maybe I'm just getting old. Or maybe it really is a little taxing ot chase after a 7 yr old, 6 yr old, 5 yr old, 4 yr old, and an almost 2 yr old. Who knows? We have had so much fun this summer, but seriously how many more days til SCHOOL?? ha ha! The pic below is a special playdoh creation Annahlise made for her mom. She keeps making stuff for her mom even though I keep telling her that I am her coolest most totally awesome Auntie.....go figure. I still have a few days to get her to see the light......oh, her playdoh is am Ice cream sundae complete with banana, spoon, nuts, and cherry!
