9th Anniversary

Doug and I decided we needed to have some fun for our 9th wedding anniversary. We had a play date with just the two of us at Knott's Berry Farm! I tell you, I love taking my children places (especially amusement parks) but Doug and I had so much fun without them. I got to go on rides without checking the height requirement first. That in and of itself was awesome. I also didn't have to lug around a big old bag full of wipes, water, snacks, sunscreen, etc. I didn't even take in a purse. I felt as free as a teenager. That day I didn't have to worry about anyone getting high or low or needing snacks or even being on a feeding/eating schedule. I didn't have to search for a bathroom every 20 minutes either. And no one whined for a toy or treat at every shop. This was bliss. The park was pretty empty too so that was even better. We had a blast on Supreme Scream and the Xcelerator. We rode them so many times! Darold and Christine gave us free tickets to get into the park and they babysat our kids free too! Thank you! We love our awesome friends!! I love Doug too! Thanks for 9 awesome years and here's to 90 more......

Yummy bugs

Douglas brought home some sour cream and onion flavored crickets the other day. Chloe was the only one brave enough (besides Doug) to try them. She ended up eating the entire box! She thought they were good. She said they tasted like chips. I guess it is more protein than chips. Too bad I can't buy a big bag of them! Haha. I wonder what her teachers would say if she showed up at school with crickets in her lunch? Hmmm...probably not "yummy!" like Chloe said.I wish we had a picture of her eating them but we only took a video. Bummer.

Hospital

Derek is having a hard time with this Scarlet Fever gig he's got. He had some "strange" complications with it and was hospitalized. Derek was so brave when the nurses would take his blood or give him an IV. He just laid there and WATCHED them, never even flinching. The nurses couldn't believe it. They had never had a kid want to watch. What a trooper.
He is home now though. When he came home he was fever free and rash free. His "complications" were much better and all seemed well. Four days go by (a total of 10 on antibiotics) and his rash came back. So back to the ER we went. The doctors were baffled! They checked all his major organs and the tests came back normal. We were glad for that and the doctors let us go home. Derek still has a rash (very light now) and we just have to watch it. Hopefully by the time he finishes his antibiotic he will be Scarlet Fever free! Poor little guy. While he was in the hospital Doug's mom came to help out. Thanks! She was an awesome helper. Then before she left we even got to take her shopping to our new cool store, Tai Pan Trading (thanks mom for showing us how "cool" it is). Very fun.
We just want him better and not contagious anymore so we can go places. So stinky for him. He feels fine though (according to him). Derek slept alot yesterday. Hopefully he will be better soon.
