Doug started Mountain Bike Racing this year and has done well. He heard about a series that races on Tuesday nights and decided to give it a try. The kids were excited that there was a kid race too. The kid race is NOT like the one in Fontana though. Oh, no. In Irvine they have the kids race on the actual race course. So Preston and Chloe rode the same course Doug did. Complete with switchbacks, steep downhill, and lots of single track. Crazy huh? They rode 1/4 of the race that Doug did. The kid portion was about 2 miles.
Preston finished in 8th place overall and Chloe finished first in the girls! They BOTH did so well it was crazy! We were so proud!
Doug started out so great in the race. He came around the track the first time and was in 4th place. I was excited!
Then I got a call from Doug and he had to do this:
His chain broke! I was so sad. He still finished the race though! And he didn't even come in last! LOL!
