Our lil Monkey Derek got a new monkey the other day. We were at the Mills just killing some time window shopping when we found ourselves letting Derek build-a-monkey. Preston and Chloe both have created a build-a-bear stuffed animal before but Derek never has. Douglas and I decided that it could be an early birthday present for him. He was so excited. Derek has a curious george monkey that he is VERY attached to. He loves curious george and takes him everywhere with us. He also has started telling us his feelings using curious george. Strange I know. It goes something like this:
"Mommy, Georgie is mad cause Preston is not being nice. He is so angry. Preston pushed him."
And he'll often tell us when he did something wrong too using good 'ole georgie.
"Mommy georgie accidentally spilled the milk all over the floor. Ummm hmmm. He did. He said sorry though so he's not in trouble huh? Georgie is so sorry. It was an accident. We have to clean it."
Anyway, I was interested to see what he would do with another monkey. He named the monkey......Georgie. Wow what a surprise. Two george monkeys. Great. We got home and he ran to get Curious George and said, "Georgie, I got your Daddy!" And there it is. Build-a-Bear Monkey George is Curious George's Daddy. he plays with both of them and he sleeps with both of them.
